I’ve had a great opportunity to photograph a live storytelling and podcast series called The Story Collider, which aims to show how science is a part of our lives. The speakers are all amazing and quite accomplished. At the last show, one of the scientists who helped discover the lead in Flint’s drinking water shared his story. The last speaker of the night, however, received a standing ovation. Frances Colón, who is the former Deputy Science and Technology Adviser to the Secretary of State, and is a leader in shaping climate change policy, announced with tears in her eyes, that she had resigned her post on January 19th. She felt she could no longer effect change under the new administration.
Thanks for covering this story about science. Without your coverage and other journalists keeping records, I have no doubt that we’ll be returning to the Dark Ages in warp drive.
